How Orthodontics Work
The goal with orthodontic treatment is the same whether the patient is an adult, a teenager, or a child. Orthodontic treatment aims to straighten your teeth so they both function better and look better.
We achieve this goal by using clear aligners or braces that put gentle pressure on your teeth in order to move them into their correct positions over a period of months or years.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are either made from metal or ceramic and have been used for decades to straighten teeth. Recently, advancements in orthodontic treatment have resulted in braces that are low-profile, more comfortable to wear, and easier to care for.
How Braces Straighten Teeth
Braces apply pressure continuously to your teeth over a period of time, slowly moving them into their new and prescribed positions.
As pressure is applied and the teeth move, the bone changes shape to accommodate the new positions of the teeth.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Using Invisalign clear aligners, your smile will be gradually straightened using a series of individually customized clear aligners made from plastic and which will be adjusted over a period of time.
Invisalign clear aligners are quite convenient. They are even removable for those times when you wouldn't like anyone to know you're undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Similar in appearance to custom whitening trays, they are easy to insert. You can even remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss!
